Getting Started: Your Dashboard

The main dashboard is the main view within SEO.com that allows you to get a snapshot of your overall SEO performance over time. This is typically where you'll start for daily or monthly performance reviews.

From the main dashboard, you can access all of the main reports including:

  • Keywords Report
  • Pages Report
  • Competitor Report
  • SEO Tools

Here's an overview of what you can see on the dashboard and how to utilize the different sections:

Dashboard Chart

What it is:

The dashboard chart displays your estimated traffic, traffic value, or number of keywords over the last 12 months in a line graph. This gives you a visual of how these key metrics have trended over the past year.

How to Use It:

  • Looking at SEO performance over the last 12 months gives you a more holistic view of how your website is trending. Daily fluctuations are not as worrysome if your overall keywords, and keyword value, is trending positively over time
  • If you notice major peaks and valleys in your line chart, you might compare them to Google Algorithm Updates to see how your website may have been affected.

Estimated Traffic

What it is:

Estimated traffic is calculated by taking the search volume for each keyword you rank for (i.e. your ranking potential) and estimating how much of that search traffic will click through to your site based on your ranking position.

You can view estimated traffic in the 12-month line chart, or in the summary card with traffic value and number of keywords metrics. The summary card % change is compared month over month.

How to Use It:

  • Monitor changes in traffic month to month. If you see estimated traffic declining for two or more months, perform an SEO analysis to identify and resolve declining keywords or pages.

Traffic Value

What it is:

Traffic value takes your estimated monthly traffic and calculates how much it would cost to drive the same amount of traffic through paid Google Ads. This gives you an idea of the monetary value your organic search efforts are generating.

You can view estimated traffic value in the 12-month line chart, or in the summary card with estimated traffic and number of keywords metrics. The summary card % change is compared month over month.

How to Use It:

  • Monitor changes in your traffic value month to month, If you see traffic value declining for two or more months, it could indicate that you're losing ranking positions for valuable keywords. Review your keywords report to see what keywords are decreasing, and perform an SEO analysis to turn results around.

Number of Keywords

What it is:

The total quantity of keywords across all pages where your website ranks in the top 100 positions.

You can view the number of keywords in the 12-month line chart, or in the summary card with estimated traffic and traffic value metrics. The summary card % change is compared month over month.

How to Use It:

  • Monitor changes in your number of ranking keywords month to month. It's completely normal to see this number fluctuate a little bit month to month, or increase greatly at the start of your optimization efforts. If you see this number increase or decrease greatly within a given month, it could indicate a major change to your rankings. Perform a keyword review to see what keywords you may have lost or gained in the last month.

Top Keywords & Pages

What it is:

The top keywords and top pages blocks at the bottom of the dashboard show your highest-performing keywords and pages by estimated traffic over the last 12 months.

How to Use It:

  • Click through to access dedicated dashboards for more details on your top-performing keywords and pages.
  • While your top keywords and pages shouldn't change greatly over time- monitor these blocks for changes and if you see one of your top traffic-driving keywords or pages drop out of your top 3, perform an SEO analysis to see what may have changed.

The dashboard provides a high-level overview to monitor your SEO performance over time. Review it regularly to track progress and identify any metrics that require optimization efforts.
